The intrepid founders of Far Reaches Botanical Conservancy track down—and keep track of—the world’s rarest plants.

It’s been a wet winter, but this is a story about a botanical ark.  

Far Reaches Farm is a plant collectors’ paradise. The Port Townsend nursery is owned and operated by Kelly Dodson and Sue Milliken, kindred botanical partners who met on a plant hunting expedition in Yunnan in 1997. They’ve been botanizing and raising cool plants together ever since.
