Slow Flowers & Self Care

See this content in the original post

A couple of weeks ago Debra Prinzing, founder of the Slow Flowers Society and creator of the Slow Flowers podcast invited me to be a guest in a Virtual Meet-up for Slow Flowers members. Debra is producing these weekly gatherings to inspire and check in with floral designers, flower farmers and shop owners impacted by these strange days of COVID-19. Whew, that a lot of links but Debra is one busy, productive woman — and one of my dearest friends of a lifetime.

The theme for the April 24th Zoom chat was Wellness and Self-Care. My part of the conversation (video link above) focused on the origin of my daily Seeing Color in the Garden practice, begun as a means of dealing with the grief of loosing my dad in March 2018, and all the ways in which my practice has been an anchor and solace since then. Honestly, I can’t imagine navigating quarantine and social distancing without my colors…. for that matter I can imagine navigating Monday’s without them.

If you’d like to watch the whole episode to hear the wise words of Julie Tobi, life and career coach, the link is here. Hang in there friends.
