Workshop: Seeing Color in the Garden

  • Fleurs Creative 105 Avenue A Snohomish, WA, 98290 United States (map)

Join artist, author, and gardener Lorene Edwards Forkner for a morning of inspiration, observation, and painting with watercolors at the Fleurs Creative Studio.

No experience needed, all materials included

In this workshop, Lorene will talk about color, it’s role in a pleasing landscape, and how her daily practice, which she posts on Instagram @gardenercook, has introduced an expansiveness to the way she views the world. All students will participate in a hands-on exercise using watercolors to record colors found in fragments of the natural world, a tiny blossom, a leaf, or a twig. This is not botanical illustration, but an exercise in learning to see with fresh eyes, and an opportunity to slow down, focus, and savor the season.

Following a brief introduction, using supplied materials, participants will create a nature-based color study. No prior art experience necessary.

Workshop prices includes a signed copy of Lorene’s book, Color In and Out of the Garden.
